The era and time of this story is unknown. After the mothership Arkanoid was destroyed, a spacecraft Vaus scrambled away from it. But only to be trapped in space warped by someone.....
Arkanoid on the Amiga was one of the best ports of the game. First because it looked great with graphics similar to the arcade game. Second because it is controlled with a mouse, which is much more natural for this type of game than all the other ports controlled with a joystick.
Unfortunately you don’t see any similar games coming out nowadays. The Arkanoid formula was perfected a long time ago and probably there is nothing new to add. However Arkanoid remains the pinnacle of the wall-breaking genre. It even manages to add a final boss to the formula.
The game is very hard. It has to be since it is a port of a coin-sucking arcade game. However it is still very addictive, and it’s hard to put down before one final go. I just found out that apart from the original 33 levels, Arkanoid has an additional 33 levels in the US version which I have never played before. So what more can you wish for?
